The Pfeiffer HiScroll 6 Dry Vacuum Pump are oil-free that ensure a high-efficiency drying environment. Because freeze drying extracts large volumes of moisture, keeping your vacuum system in peak condition is essential.
Over time, the internal scroll seals will experience natural wear. Replacing them is a straightforward process that restores your pump to factory performance.

Step-by-Step Replacement Guide
1. Safety First
Disconnect the pump from the freeze dryer and unplug it from the power source. Allow the pump to cool completely before handling.
2. Open the Housing
Use an Allen wrench to remove the front casing bolts securing the scroll housing. Unplug the wire at the bottom of the housing and carefully pull the outer housing away to expose the spiral scroll mechanisms.
3. Remove Old Seals & Clean
Peel the worn TipSeals out of the curved grooves on both the scrolls. Use a clean, lint-free cloth and isopropanol to wipe away any dust or residue from the scroll flanks.
4. Install New TipSeals
Press the new TipSeals firmly into the spiral grooves, starting from the center and working outward. Ensure they sit completely flush without twisting. Trim any excess seal tail according to the kit instructions, and replace the main casing O-ring.
5. Reassemble and Test
Reattach the front housing, tightening the bolts hand-tight in a cross-pattern before securing them firmly. Reconnect the pump to your CryoDry freeze dryer.
